I was having a look at the site meter today to see the OS that the people that read the blog use. Descouragingly there are still so many Windows users.

I think that Scientists should not only support open source programs, which we do, since most of the bioinformatic tools are free of charge, but also use and encourage others to use open source operating sytems like linux.

I’ve been using it for years. Not a single virus, few crashes, FREE… just to mention a couple of things.

From now on I’ll have this little homemade tux in my Blog to say loud and proud that I am a Linux scientist.
