Catalytic RNA to catalytic DNA
Very interesting post in the Greythumb.
In this post Adam describes an investigation were they did an “in-vitro accelerated/directed evolutionary process” that “has been used to convert an RNA enzyme into a DNA enzyme with the same function in vitro”.
Have a look! Catalytic RNA converted into catalytic DNA, a nice step in the stairs towards the origin.
But…. two doubts arise:
What do they mean with “in-vitro accelerated/directed”? You know… how directed and accelerated?
Also, it is supposed to be published in an online journal, hope you forgive my lack of knowledge, but I never heard of it. I thought that this article is worth a higher impact factor publication than an online journal.
I hope this two questions are only a product of skepticism. If everything is as sounds we have something really nice.
I wanna read the article whenever published!
